The Gift of the Icon

Through prayer you have been chosen to receive an Icon. By accepting it you are accepting Jesus into your life in a new way. Jesus desires to spend time with you.

By accepting this Icon into your home, you are opening yourself to Jesus. We often think about us going home to Jesus, but do we ever think about Jesus coming home to us.

When you sit before this Icon you are enabling Jesus to sit at the fire of your heart. When Jesus is sitting at the fire of your heart you are giving him heat and consolation in a world that can be very cold and harsh towards him.

Your time before this Icon, as you simply look at the Face of Jesus, is time given to God. When you are sitting looking at the Face of Jesus he is looking at your face. Nothing more needs to happen.
